May I use a WaysMeet physician or nurse-practitioner as my primary care provider? No, the care that WaysMeet staff provides complements rather than substitutes for the services of a primary care provider. Although WaysMeet physicians and nurse-practitioners have training and experience in providing primary care, they have chosen to pursue further education in complementary approaches that are not readily available, although very needed, in this area of Kentucky. They are eager to work with you and your primary care provider to integrate all aspects of your care.

WaysMeet is not set up to provide emergency care or to arrange for hospitalization. If you need emergency care, please call 911, go to your nearest hospital or urgent care center or contact your primary care provider.

Will my insurance cover WaysMeet services? WaysMeet practitioners do not accept insurance or participate in managed care plans. Few Kentucky insurance policies provide coverage for the complementary modalities that WaysMeet offers, although some flexible spending accounts and medical savings plans will reimburse you for the costs of these therapies.

We encourage you to check with your insurance representative or plan administrator to find out whether you may be reimbursed for the cost of your WaysMeet care. It is important to mention the qualifications of the practitioner and, in some cases, the medical diagnosis for which you are seeking care. (For example, you may be seeking reimbursement for acupuncture provided by a physician for chronic pain.) You will receive a detailed receipt ("superbill") at the end of each visit that may be helpful in your pursuit of reimbursement.

Payment is due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made.

In order to make services available as widely as possible, WaysMeet offers a sliding scale of charges for many treatments. If WaysMeet charges present a hardship to you, please discuss your needs at the time of your visit.

How do I make an appointment? In most cases, you may request an appointment by email or by telephone. For more information, see the discussion of the specific modality or treatment in which you are interested.

Why do I get the answering machine when I phone WaysMeet during clinic hours? WaysMeet does not have reception or office staff. WaysMeet practitioners commit to being fully present in our care; we do not interrupt our visits with patients and clients in order to answer phone calls. If you leave a message, your call will be returned within 3 days. In most cases, you may also communicate your question or request by email. Please do not use either the answering machine or email for private health information.
